Rubén Patagonia

Rubén Patagonia, born Rubén Chauque on July 2, 1956, in Chubut, Argentina, was a prominent figure in Mapuche folklore music. He was known for his deep connection to Patagonian rhythms and collaborated with notable artists such as León Gieco and Divididos. Over his career, he released nine albums and received significant accolades, including the prestigious CAMIN award at the Festival Nacional de Folclore de Cosquín. In addition to his musical contributions, Patagonia also acted in various films, including 'La película del Rey' and worked in international cinema. He passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 69.
