Ruslan Parfenov

Ruslan Parfenov is a Belarusian political activist and former political prisoner who played a significant role in the 2020 presidential campaign of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. He led a group of activists in Mozyr and was arrested shortly after the elections amid a crackdown on dissent. Parfenov faced severe treatment during his detention, including psychological pressure and harsh conditions in various detention facilities. After serving a five-year sentence, he has since escaped Belarus and continues to advocate for political change from abroad, determined to maintain his activism despite the risks.
