Rustam Emomali

Rustam Emomali is a prominent Tajik politician and the current Chairman of the National Council (Majlisi Milli), the upper house of the Supreme Assembly (Majlisi Oli) of Tajikistan, a position he has held since April 17, 2020. He also serves as the Mayor of Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan, since April 4, 2017. Additionally, he is the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and the Central Asian Football Association, demonstrating his involvement in sports governance. The son of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Rustam has played a crucial role in strengthening Tajikistan's parliamentary diplomacy and fostering international relations, particularly with neighboring Kazakhstan, as evidenced by his recent meeting with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to discuss strategic partnerships.
