Ruth Posner

Ruth Posner was a Holocaust survivor, Polish-born actress, and dancer who escaped a Nazi ghetto as a child. After enduring unimaginable hardships during World War II, including living under a false identity, she ultimately settled in the UK where she became a prominent member of the London Contemporary Dance Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In her later years, she became an advocate for Holocaust education, sharing her experiences with younger generations to combat antisemitism. Tragically, she and her husband Michael chose to end their lives together at a Swiss assisted dying clinic, expressing their desire to avoid merely existing in their old age.
