Sadia Araa, a pharmacy technician based in Ottawa, has been advocating for the safe passage of her family from Sudan to Canada, having applied nearly a year ago to bring her elderly mother and siblings to safety amidst the devastating conflict targeting their Zaghawa ethnic minority.
