Saengduean Lek Chailert

Saengduean Lek Chailert, often referred to as the 'elephant whisperer,' is a Thai animal rights activist and the founder of the Elephant Nature Park in northern Thailand. Her lifelong dedication to protecting elephants began in her youth after witnessing the mistreatment of these majestic animals. Chailert has successfully transformed her sanctuary into a haven for over 120 rescued elephants, emphasizing compassion and rehabilitation. Despite her achievements, she remains vigilant about the threats facing Asian elephants, including habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict.
