Sáenz
Sáenz, a 32-year-old official from the Ministry of Finance in Costa Rica, was recently in the news for allegedly soliciting a bribe of ¢5,000 from a contractor to allow him to pass merchandise, including a water pump and beer, through the border with Panama. After receiving the payment, he returned the contractor's identification and permitted the goods to be brought into the country. Sáenz was later arrested by agents from the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) following the contractor's report of the incident.
