Safa Junes is a survivor of the Haditha massacre, a tragic event during the Iraq War where her family was killed by American Marines in November 2005. At the age of 13, she witnessed the brutal murder of her family, managing to survive by pretending to be dead among her deceased relatives. Now in her 30s, Safa continues to seek justice for her family, expressing deep frustration over the lack of accountability for those responsible for the killings.
