Sajid Ali

Sajid Ali is a Pakistani man who was sentenced to death on blasphemy charges in 2023. He was accused of making derogatory remarks against religious figures in a case that garnered significant attention due to the severe nature of the charges, which included provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code that mandate capital punishment for blasphemy. Following an appeal, the Lahore High Court acquitted him in February 2025, citing insufficient evidence and inconsistencies in witness testimonies as the basis for overturning the previous verdict.
