Salman Khasimikov was a legendary Kazakh wrestler, born in 1953, who became a four-time world champion (1979, 1981, 1982, 1983) and a two-time European champion (1979, 1981) in freestyle wrestling. Despite his achievements, he never competed in the Olympics due to injuries and the Soviet boycott.
