Sam the Trinity fox
Sam the Trinity fox became a beloved figure during the Covid-19 lockdown as he roamed the grounds of Trinity College Dublin and ventured into the nearby Temple Bar area. Known for his nightly patrols, Sam was frequently spotted socializing with students and staff, earning a reputation as a charming campus mascot. He even inspired poetry, notably being immortalized in Derek Mahon's collection 'Washing Up.' Despite his fame, Sam faced health challenges and ultimately spent his final weeks in an animal sanctuary, where he was cared for before being humanely euthanized to prevent further suffering.
