Samar Abu Luf

Samar Abu Luf is a Palestinian photojournalist known for her powerful and poignant photography that captures the human impact of conflict, particularly in Gaza. Her notable work includes the award-winning image of 9-year-old Mahmoud Ajjour, who lost both arms due to Israeli airstrikes. This photograph, which conveys the heartbreaking realities faced by children in war, was recognized as the World Press Photo of the Year 2025. After relocating to Doha in December 2023, she continues to document the experiences of wounded Palestinians, shedding light on the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
