Samer Naeem

Samer Naeem is a representative of the Mandaean community in Dhi Qar, Iraq. He has been vocal about the urgent need to revive the Mandaean language, which is at risk of extinction due to a drastic reduction in speakers over the years. With only three individuals fluent in the language in his region, all of whom are religious leaders, Naeem advocates for the establishment of educational centers and classes to teach the Mandaean language to ensure its survival. He emphasizes the importance of the language not just for religious rituals, but also as a vital part of the community's cultural heritage.
