Samuel Buenfil Espinoza

Samuel Buenfil Espinoza served as the director of the municipal police in Acapulco, where he became embroiled in a dangerous conflict with organized crime. He was known for his efforts to oust corrupt officers linked to criminal groups and for his outspoken allegations of infiltration within the police force. Tragically, Buenfil was assassinated in January 2023, shortly after rejecting a bribe and filing complaints about the involvement of high-ranking police officials with organized crime.
