San Millán
San Millán, also known as Aemilianus, was a prominent figure in early medieval Spain, revered as a saint and the founder of the Monastery of Suso in La Rioja. He lived in the 6th century and spent 40 years in solitude in a cave, where he dedicated himself to prayer and meditation. His life and teachings greatly influenced the Christian community, and he is celebrated for his piety and dedication to God. The cave where he resided is a popular pilgrimage site, particularly during the annual romería held by the men of San Millán de la Cogolla, who seek his intercession for healing.
