Sandra Dunne

Sandra Dunne is a thalidomide survivor who has lived with the profound effects of the drug since her early childhood. Diagnosed at the age of nine, she has faced significant physical challenges due to the birth defects caused by thalidomide, which her mother took during pregnancy. Despite her lifelong struggles and advocacy for recognition, Dunne has not received official acknowledgment or support from the Irish government, a situation she continues to campaign against, particularly in memory of her late mother, who fought tirelessly for her recognition.
