Santiago Gangutia was the founder of Tonelería Gangutia in 1870, a pioneering cooperage in La Rioja, Spain. Recognizing the evolving needs of winemakers, he established one of the first workshops for barrel-making in the region, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative practices that set the foundation for the family-run business that has thrived for five generations.
