Sanzio Montori

Sanzio Montori was an 88-year-old resident of Santarcangelo, Italy, who became a victim of a violent attack after denying a two-euro request for alms. The incident occurred on August 9, 2025, when he was followed and assaulted by a 29-year-old homeless man outside a gelateria in Rimini. Montori suffered severe injuries from the attack, which included being stabbed with a pair of large scissors. He endured a lengthy recovery period in hospitals and nursing homes before succumbing to respiratory complications related to his injuries on January 16, 2026.
