Sarah Midanik

Sarah Midanik is the president and chief executive officer of the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund, an organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous culture, art, and education in Canada. A member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, she has been a vocal advocate for reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, emphasizing the complex history surrounding the Hudson’s Bay point blanket. Under her leadership, the fund has allocated over $1.5 million to grassroots Indigenous organizations and initiatives, highlighting her commitment to fostering understanding and support for Indigenous communities.
