Sarah Mutesi Kibedi

Sarah Mutesi Kibedi, later known as Malyamu, was the first wife of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Born in 1939, she was a seamstress and the sister of a former Ugandan Foreign Minister. Malyamu was married to Amin just months before Uganda's independence, navigating the complexities of being married to a man with a violent reputation and multiple relationships.
