Satya Azyumar is a 25-year-old Indonesian activist deeply involved in social justice movements. Known for his participation in protests against the Indonesian government, he has been vocal about the increasing authoritarianism and police violence in his country. During a recent conference on digital rights in Malaysia, he expressed his heartbreak upon witnessing police brutality during protests from afar. Together with friends, he founded a youth movement advocating for social justice, addressing issues such as unemployment and rising inequalities faced by young Indonesians. Satya believes in non-violent action but acknowledges the desperation that sometimes leads to more aggressive protests.
