Saúl Uribe

Saúl Uribe is an anthropologist with over 15 years of experience working with Indigenous communities in the Colombian and Ecuadorian Amazon. His research focuses on the impacts of the extractive sector on these communities, and he has recently noted a significant rise in violence and extortion in areas previously considered safe for fieldwork. Despite the increased risks, Uribe remains committed to his research, although he acknowledges that studying certain topics has become perilous due to the current security situation.
