Savinder Kaur Nagi

Savinder Kaur Nagi, born in 1936 in Kisumu, Kenya, was a Punjabi Sikh woman whose life story reflects the challenges faced by many women of her generation. After being married off at a young age and experiencing a difficult first marriage, she moved to the UK after raising her son, Avtar, whom she was forced to give up. Despite facing cultural pressures and personal loss, Savinder was a devoted mother to her later children and maintained a close bond with them, even as she carried the grief of her past. She passed away in December 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
