Sebako

Sebako is a pioneering athletics referee from Botswana who has recently achieved the prestigious World Athletics Referees Bronze Level, making her the first woman in Botswana to attain this status. Born 48 years ago in Francistown, she initially pursued a career as a track athlete, representing her school in relay teams. A professional teacher at Kumakwane Primary School, she became heavily involved in athletics officiating starting in 2022, motivated by the lack of women referees in the country. She has officiated at numerous significant events, including the FNB Botswana Golden Grand Prix and international competitions like the Debswana World Athletics Relays. Her ambition is to continue advancing in her officiating career, with aspirations to achieve Gold Level status in the future.
