Sébastien Liautaud was a French activist and victim advocate from Nice, known for his courageous testimony against sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. He was a former altar boy who bravely spoke out about his own experiences of abuse during a pilgrimage in 1997. Liautaud was instrumental in raising awareness about the plight of victims in the Diocese of Nice and played a significant role in the collective 'Libère ta parole,' which aimed to give a voice to those affected by such traumas. Tragically, he took his own life on May 1, 2024, at the age of 39, amidst the emotional turmoil surrounding ongoing legal battles against his abuser.
