Senacherib

Senacherib was a king of the Assyrian Empire who reigned from 705 to 681 BC. He is notable for his military campaigns against neighboring states, including Judah and Egypt, which are documented in both Assyrian inscriptions and biblical texts. His aggressive tactics and innovative military strategies helped expand the Assyrian Empire, but his efforts were famously thwarted during an ill-fated campaign against Jerusalem, attributed to a mysterious plague that decimated his forces.
