Sergio Benítez Cristaldo is one of the individuals implicated in a scandal involving the use of fraudulent educational credentials. He, along with other educators, is facing legal scrutiny for allegedly obtaining teaching positions within the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC) in Paraguay by presenting fake degrees from a non-existent institution, the Instituto de Formación Docente 'Virgen de Fátima'.
