
Sergiy Kapanets
Sergiy Kapanets is a former professional football player and media manager from Belarus. He played in the top league for teams such as Molodechno and Slonim's Komunalnik in the late 1990s before transitioning to a career in media. Kapanets served as the commercial director for Alfa Radio and later became the director of the advertising agency Prime Media Group, as well as the editor-in-chief of TV RAY. He gained significant media attention after being arrested in August 2020 for his involvement in protests against the Belarusian government and was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison, which he completed and was released in early 2024.
