Shabdan Baatyr

Shabdan Baatyr was a prominent figure in 19th-century Kyrgyz history, known for his leadership and contributions to the Kyrgyz people's struggle for independence. His legacy is being honored in Bishkek through the renaming of a street that will replace previous names, including that of the Russian author Leo Tolstoy, as part of a broader effort to unify street names and remove Soviet-era toponyms from the city.
