Shaista

Shaista is a young Afghan man who is newly married to Benazir and lives in a refugee camp in Kabul. He aspires to be the first in his tribe to join the Afghan national army, struggling against familial pressures to pursue safer, more traditional means of livelihood. His story captures the tension between personal ambition and family obligation amidst the backdrop of the Taliban's return to power.
