Shamm Qudeih

Shamm Qudeih is a 23-month-old baby from Gaza who gained international attention after a heartbreaking photograph captured her in her mother's arms at a hospital suffering from acute malnutrition. Following the outbreak of conflict and a blockade in Gaza, Shamm was evacuated to Italy for medical treatment, where she was diagnosed with a possible genetic condition affecting her muscle and bone development. Despite her serious health challenges, Shamm has shown signs of improvement in her care at a children's hospital in Naples.
