Shaweji Mkumbura

Shaweji Mkumbura is the Kinondoni District chairman of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party in Tanzania. He has recently been in the news for clarifying that Bishop Josephat Gwajima, despite facing internal party scrutiny over his performance and recent controversies, remains eligible to seek re-election for the Kawe constituency in the upcoming 2025 General Election. Mkumbura emphasized the importance of democratic participation within the party and expressed that all members, including Gwajima, have the right to collect nomination forms for candidacy.
