Sheffer was recently returned to the United States after serving 11 years in prison in Indonesia for his involvement in a brutal murder case known as the 'suitcase murder.' He expressed remorse for his actions before boarding a flight back to the U.S., stating, 'I am sorry. I am always sorry.' In 2015, an Indonesian court sentenced him to 18 years in prison for the crime, which was described by the judge as 'merciless.'
