Shgai Dekel-Chen, a 36-year-old American citizen from Nir Oz, was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, during an assault while his wife was pregnant with their third child. His family has been actively working with the U.S. government to secure his release, which is set to occur soon as part of a larger prisoner exchange.
