Shlomo Zamir

Shlomo Zamir, known as the 'legendary policeman of Dimona,' served with distinction in the Israeli police and was recognized for his bravery, receiving the Police Medal of Honor in 1980. He gained national recognition as one of the torch-lighters during Israel's Independence Day celebrations in 1986. Shlomo was deeply connected to his family, which included his grandson Assaf Zamir, who followed in his footsteps by serving in the armored corps of the Israel Defense Forces.
