Shmaya

Shmaya was a Jewish sage of the early rabbinic period, known for his role in the leadership of the Jewish academy alongside his colleague Avtalion. He is often recognized for his teachings and interpretations of Jewish law, and for being part of a critical transition in Jewish scholarship during the time of Hillel.
