
Shuhrat Abbosov
Shuhrat Abbosov is a celebrated Uzbek filmmaker born on January 16, 1931, in Qo‘qon. He initially pursued a career in medicine before shifting to the arts, graduating from the Tashkent State Institute of Arts in 1954. Abbosov made significant contributions to Uzbek cinema as a director and screenwriter, particularly during his tenure at 'O‘zbekfilm' from 1958 to 1991. His notable works include films such as 'Mahallada duv-duv gap,' 'Abu Rayhon Beruniy,' and 'Olovli yo‘llar,' showcasing his talent for storytelling and cultural representation. In addition to filmmaking, he has also directed theatrical productions and served as a mentor to aspiring artists in various capacities. Recently, media highlighted him in connection with a test based on his films, commemorating his contributions to Uzbek cinema and culture.
