Sibgha Ajaz

Sibgha Ajaz is the Programme Coordinator of Migration Management at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). She has been instrumental in supporting The Gambia's efforts to implement the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), particularly through the establishment of a National Coordination Mechanism and the operationalization of the National Migration Policy. Recently, she highlighted the progress made by The Gambia in migration governance while also acknowledging the ongoing challenges, such as irregular migration and socioeconomic vulnerabilities. Her work emphasizes the importance of data analysis and consultations in addressing migration issues and contributing to global discussions, particularly in preparation for the 2026 International Migration Review Forum (IMRF).
