Siddhartha Majumdar

Siddhartha Majumdar is the Chairman of the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC). He was in the news for his comments regarding the Supreme Court's recent decision to cancel the appointments of over 26,000 teachers and non-teaching staff, citing widespread irregularities in the hiring process. Majumdar indicated that while the commission had identified around 5,000 illegal appointees, the ruling affected many qualified candidates as well, leading to the commission's intention to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court.
