Sigrún Klara Hannesdóttir

Sigrún Klara Hannesdóttir is an emerita professor of information science at the University of Iceland and a former national librarian. Since 2007, she has led the charity organization Vini Perú, which supports schools in impoverished areas of Peru, particularly in the Andes. Her journey to philanthropy began after she experienced a devastating earthquake in Peru in 1970 and later decided to help children in need through education and resources. Over the years, she has facilitated significant aid and established libraries in rural schools, impacting the lives of many children.
