Silvia Baron Supervielle

Born in 1934 in Argentina, Silvia Baron Supervielle is a poet, essayist, and translator who has made significant contributions to literature in both Spanish and French. Living in France, she is best known for her translations of Marguerite Yourcenar's works into Spanish, including a passionate correspondence between the two that was published in 2009. Her discovery of Yourcenar's early poetry in a Parisian bookshop profoundly influenced her, leading her to translate and celebrate the poet's romantic and melancholic sonnets.
