Silvia Velichkova

Silvia Velichkova is a representative of patients on the supervisory board of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) in Bulgaria. She has been vocal about the inadequacies in funding for biomarker diagnostics for cancer patients, recently expressing her refusal to sign an annex to the National Framework Agreement for 2023-2025 that did not include increased funding for this critical area. Velichkova argues that the current allocation of funds is insufficient and calls for greater financial commitment to ensure proper diagnostic measures for effective cancer treatment.
