Silvio Parrello

Silvio Parrello is an 83-year-old painter and poet known for his dedication to preserving the memory of filmmaker and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini, whom he befriended in the Monteverde neighborhood of Rome. Parrello has been an advocate for Pasolini's legacy, creating black-and-white murals and recalling vivid anecdotes about their time together. As a lifelong resident of Monteverde, he remains passionate about the area's cultural history, and he continues to express his artistry through his paintings while also pursuing justice for Pasolini's unsolved murder in 1975, which he believes was a state crime.
