Silviu Mina Dobronăuțeanu is a former textile engineer who became notorious for establishing two unaccredited private universities in Romania, which were implicated in the issuance of thousands of fake diplomas. He was previously subject to a criminal investigation for falsifying over 2,000 diplomas and was convicted in 2016, though his sentence was later prescribed.
