Simon Kiarie

Simon Kiarie is the Acting Director for Productive Sectors at the East African Community (EAC), where he plays a crucial role in implementing strategies to enhance the horticulture sector. Recently, he spoke at the Comesa–EAC Horticulture Accelerator forum in Arusha, highlighting the EAC's commitment to deep integration and improving intra-regional trade in fruits and vegetables. Kiarie emphasized the importance of addressing challenges such as fragmented supply chains and high post-harvest losses to boost farmers' incomes and strengthen regional value chains.
