Simonyi Károly

Simonyi Károly is a Hungarian-American engineer and businessman, known for being the first Hungarian citizen to travel to space. He flew to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2007 as a space tourist aboard a Soyuz spacecraft. A prominent figure in the field of software development, he is also recognized for his contributions to Microsoft, particularly as the creator of Microsoft Word. His space journey and subsequent work in promoting science and technology have made him a notable figure in Hungary and beyond.
