Sincere Standtrue

Sincere Standtrue was a young man from Gloriavale who tragically died in an incident related to a dangerous practice known as 'blacking out.' His death was ruled accidental by Coroner Alexandra Cunninghame after an inquest revealed that Sincere had expressed interest in the practice, which involved temporarily restricting airflow to induce a state of unconsciousness. Despite conflicting accounts of Sincere's well-being, the inquiry highlighted his struggles within the Gloriavale community and the impact of his environment on his mental health. The findings also revealed that Sincere had suffered from brain damage due to exposure to solvents, which contributed to the circumstances surrounding his death.
