Sion Assidon
Sion Assidon was a prominent Moroccan figure known for his role in leftist politics, human rights advocacy, and opposition to the monarchy. Born in Agadir in 1948 to a Jewish family, he became involved in political activism during the rise of the Mouvement du 23 mars, which opposed the oppressive regime of King Hassan II. Assidon was recognized as a key voice in the struggle for democracy and freedom of expression in Morocco, and he remained a significant figure in discussions about the country's political history until his passing in November 2023.
