Sir Durward Knowles

Sir Durward Knowles was a celebrated Bahamian sailor and the first person from the Bahamas to win an Olympic gold medal, achieving this feat in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics in sailing. Known as 'Sea Wolf,' he dedicated much of his life to promoting sailing and youth sports in the Bahamas, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire young sailors through events like the Sir Durward Knowles National Junior Sailing Championships.
