Sirikit Kitiyakorn

Sirikit Kitiyakorn, born on August 12, 1932, was the former queen of Thailand and a prominent figure in the Thai monarchy as the wife of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who reigned for 70 years. Known for her grace and influence, she was often compared to Jackie Kennedy and played a significant role in modernizing the image of the Thai royal family during the 1960s. As the mother of the current king, Vajiralongkorn, she became a beloved symbol of Thai culture and motherhood, with her birthday celebrated as Mother's Day in Thailand. Sirikit passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 93, marking the end of an era for the Thai monarchy.
